So I’m in Cambodia now and it’s amazing to say the least. As we got settled in here in Phenom pehn, it was so obvious that my Spanish wouldn’t help me here haha. But when you search for something more God is always faithful to show up. Since I’ve been here. I’ve sat and asked him what would it look like to reach people here in Cambodia. He simply said, “Through my word.” So now that I’ve been here close to two weeks, my goal is to really study his divine word.
It’s so easy as the church to speak without proof from the word. I always have to line up what I say with the word. And if I’m wrong, submit to the word of God. When I read the Bible everyday, it’s like I’m being fed. It satisfies my spirit and gives my clarity about how to live my life as a Christian and as a son of the Father. So with knowing truth, Im able to apply it to ministry.
And in this case, it’s at an American Christian Academy, not to far down the road from where we stay. I’ve been given the opportunity to be a kindergarten teacher along with some other amazing teachers, who happen to be studying seminary at the same time. Crazy discipline right!! The first day we got to see the students during morning assembly, I just looked at them and almost started crying. And this was out of gratitude to the Lord. Because who am I that I would be used to influence these kids lives. I believe God has me here in this stage to show me how to be a father like him. I see the Khmer people as no different from me because the Gospel is for all. This reminds me of something I read in Romans and it says, “Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.”
??Romans? ?8:33? ?ESV??
As well as, “ “Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.”
??Romans? ?8:34? ?ESV??.
See in the days that are great and the days that suck, Christ is still fighting for us. When I don’t think the kids are getting what I’m trying to teach or if they are, God is still working in the heavenly places and in their hearts. I’m constantly praying that the Lord shows his goodness through these Children so that their parents can come to repentance. Because most of their parents are Buddhists, the kids are learning two different ways of life. The Way of the lord and the traditions they have here. But do I believe God is bigger than any tradition?? ABSOLUTELY!
And what’s cool is that the parents know that the Bible is being taught here, yet they allow their children to stay because they see how we love their kids. I know that that LOVE is an unconditional love from ABBA. It’s not pushing American Christianity or Asian Christianity, it’s showing Biblical Christianity. The more we live missionary minded, the more we fall in love with each other. Because we take our eyes of ourselves and fix them on a God who is willing and able. Who deserves our life.
Good word! Keep killin it! Proud mom.
Brandon this is so good!! The Lord is speaking to you a ton already and I love that. Keep pressing in and asking him to expand your capacity to love even further. You see these people so well!
Brandon, Continue to keep your eyes fixed on our ever willing and able Savior! You have an incredible ability to see others through the eyes of the Father that encourages me 9000 miles away. I’m glad to know it is the Khmer people who we are praying for. I feel I often don’t have adequate words to pray for Squad Z, but praise the Lord, Christ intercedes for all of us!
Stay invigorated for the kingdom brother. I love your perspective toward life. Keep sharing it
