“I guess you don’t really know what you have until it’s gone”.

My whole life I’ve been in teams whether it was a sports team, academic team or a friend group. So I’ve had my fair share of multiple members working toward one goal. And each player, member, or friend has shown their certain strengths, gifts, and weaknesses.

As you might or might not know, for the last two years I’ve been apart of the most intentional teams of my entire existence. And it’s been a journey understanding how to operate in health when in a team. Much of the individualist in me is broken down and is humbled by the man or woman right beside me. Their presence leads me to analyze my motives, intentions, and desires. Am I looking for my answer or word to be the right one or am I seeking to add perspective and encouragement?

If there’s anything that has smacked me in the face, it is that I am apart of something bigger than myself. Every moment I’ve gotten to share in a team has been a gift and is continuing to be a gift for me. My mind is starting to erase the right or wrong and trade them for life or death. And what’s mind blowing is that I can now sit in a team and offer my heart and my ears.

  1. Brandon, Love this! Thanks for the reminder that I can grow in better offering heart and ears… and both seek and give that which is life-giving. I have loved watching you and Nathan learn and grow within the context of such intentional Biblical community. The fruit spills out of you both! Love you, brother.

  2. Colleen and I continue to pray God reveals Himself more an more as you dive deeper in intimacy with the Father. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Brandon ~ love this!! Thank you for sharing, and thank you for being willing to learn from your Abba! Thank you for being obedient! Excited for you and this part of your journey!
